🔍 Understanding the Approach:
The SDR version retains its original colors and dynamic range, residing in an HDR container to allow for an unbiased evaluation. On the other hand, the HDR version remains untouched, presenting the original 4K HDR Blu-ray experience. It's all about providing you with an accurate assessment of the visual disparities between these two formats. Keep in mind that the average Joe watches SDR on a non-calibrated TV at 200nits+. This video shows the original SDR 100nits range as it was graded.

FEL BAKED? This is a process that takes the Full Enhancement Layer (FEL) and merges/bakes it to the HDR10 Base layer (BL) which is exactly what your bluray player does when it decodes both layers. The RPU (dynamic metadata) are not baked in since those will produce different tone mapping depending on your TV capabilities.
