❓❓❓ Do you know the uses of the imperative in Spanish? Let’s look at some!/ ¿Conoces los usos del imperativo en español? ¡Veamos algunos!

✨👉🏼The imperative is a mood used in Spanish to give commands. / El imperativo es un modo usado en español para dar órdenes.

1️⃣👉🏼 For USTED (you- formal) commands: Drop the “O” from the first person singular (yo) conjugated form, and add the endings -e for -ar verbs and -a for -er and -ir verbs/ Para órdenes afirmativas: Elimine la “O” de la forma conjugada en primera persona singular (yo) y agregue las terminaciones -e para los verbos que terminen en -ar y -a para los verbos -ir y -er.

✅ 👉🏼 For example: / Por ejemplo:
🎤 🎶 Cantar - ¡Cante el himno nacional! / Sing the national anthem!
🏡 💰 Vender - ¡No venda su casa! / Don’t sell your house!
💸 😉 Contar / pagar - ¡No cuente su dinero y pague sus cuentas! / Don’t count your money and pay your bills!

2️⃣👉🏼 For USTEDES (you all) commands: Follow the same steps as the Usted commands and add an “N” at the end of the verb. / Siga los mismos pasos que las órdenes de Usted y agregue una “N” al final del verbo.

✅👉🏼 For example: / Por ejemplo:
🎤 🎶 Cantar - ¡Canten el himno nacional! / Sing the national anthem!
🏡 💰 Vender - ¡No vendan su casa! / Don’t sell your house!
🎥 📚 Ver / leer - ¡No vean la película y lean el libro! / Don’t watch the movie and read the book!
