"Mandalay", by Rudyard Kipling, from Kanchanoburi Commonwealth War Graves Cemetery, VJ Day 2025

Описание: "Mandalay" was written by Rudyard Kipling, about a British soldier falling in love with a Burmese woman during the Third Anglo-Burma War of 1885-86.
It was an anthem for soldiers throughout the period including those who served Allied military forces in World War II.
It has been read in the memorial ceremonies for many decades since the Second World War, and our reading is for the 80th commemoration of VJ (Victory Japan) Day, at the Kanchanaburi Commonwealth War Graves Commission cemetery, next to the famous Bridge on the River Kwai.
