This is a new upload with an adjusted balance between the piano and sax microphones. Sorry for the lost comments on the previous upload.
Jacques Ibert was a famous French composer who loved to write music that painted a picture. He wasn't interested in being overly serious or complicated; instead, he wanted his music to be fun and full of life. He spent a lot of time traveling around the Mediterranean, and you can often feel the sunshine in his work. He had a great sense of humor, which makes his pieces a joy to play and listen to..
"Le Petit Âne Blanc" or "The Little White Donkey" is his most famous piece. It’s meant to sound like a busy little donkey trotting along a dusty road. If you listen to the piano part, you can hear the "clip-clop" of the hooves, while the saxophone plays the part of the donkey’s playful personality — and maybe even a "hee-haw" or two. It’s a short, happy piece we hope you enjoy.
Emilie’s drum teacher coincidentally gave her a French beret while she was practicing the song 'Un homme et une femme.' She loves wearing it.
