Demonstration of the pop-up network developed by the CSI team at the University of Glasgow in the context of the 5G Rural First remote health care use-case.
This was also demonstrated to Nicola Sturgeon on a wider Demo covered by the media.
Our solution uses an x86 computer running Ubunutu and deploying an all-in-one 3GPP network based on Open Air Interface (OAI, link below). All the necessary network services are deployed in order and the network pops up quickly and can be operated by anyone with minimal training.
The solution is backhaul agnostic, meaning it can connect to any kind of backhaul available. In the video, we are using the Univesrity of Glasgow's WiFi connectivity.
