Bienvenido Lumbera in his libretto for Tanghalang Pilipino's Noli Me Tángere: The Musical (2011) takes the source material into a musical direction, with verses whose words cut deep into the hearts of every Filipino. Paalam Na Pagibig tells of the tragic love of Crisostomo Ibarra and Maria Clara, doomed by political circumstance.
The CCP Channel pays tribute with the release of the Bienvenido Lumbera Collection a selection of excerpts from shows penned by the National Artist for Literature. In this short series of short excerpts, we explore the themes on environment, life, love, and society brought to light by the writer.
