80 Years Wise: Happiness is Found Right Where You Are
Everyone looks up at the distant sky, thinking, "I want to be happy." But let me tell you a little secret: happiness isn’t a destination you arrive at or something you "become." It is something you find, one by one, by gently noticing the small joys hidden within your everyday life.
When you look in the mirror, please don't sigh and think, "I have more wrinkles now." These wrinkles are my medals—the beautiful proof of how much I have laughed and how deeply my heart has been moved over eighty years. To me, they are more precious than any jewel. So please, don't be afraid of the changes time brings to you.
And remember, there isn't a single perfect person in this world. Everyone carries hidden scars in their heart that they don't show to others. But it is those very scars that have softened your soul and grown within you a "kindness" that can truly understand the pain of others.
