The Face Behind a Global Revolution✊🧧🪧 | Che Guevara : The Photograph That Became a Revolution

Описание: The Power of a Photograph: How Che Guevara Became a Global Symbol of Protest

How can a single photograph outlive the man in it—and become a symbol recognised across generations, countries and political movements?

In this historical documentary, we explore the extraordinary journey of Ernesto “Che” Guevara’s iconic image, from a photograph taken in Havana, Cuba, on 5 March 1960, to its transformation into one of the most recognisable symbols of rebellion and resistance.

Captured by Cuban photographer Alberto Korda, the photograph known as Guerrillero Heroico later spread across posters, magazines, student movements and international protest culture. By the late 1960s, Che’s face had become closely associated with revolutionary politics, anti-establishment movements and anti-imperialist imagery.

But how did this photograph travel from Cuba to the streets of Paris, across Latin America, Europe, Africa and Asia? And why does the same image continue to appear in contemporary protest spaces, including demonstrations in India and beyond?

This documentary examines the historical journey of Che Guevara’s image, the role of Cuban international solidarity posters, its presence in global protest culture, and the fascinating contradiction of an anti-capitalist revolutionary becoming a commercial icon on T-shirts, posters and merchandise.

From Jantar Mantar in Delhi to protest movements in France and Spain, we explore how historical symbols are reused by new generations—and why displaying Che’s face does not necessarily mean endorsing every aspect of his political ideology.

This is not simply the biography of a revolutionary. It is the story of a photograph, the politics of visual memory, and the complicated relationship between history, protest and popular culture.

Watch till the end to discover why Che Guevara’s image continues to carry meanings far beyond the moment it was captured.
