1. Safely raise the car to gain adequate access to the underside of the front bumper panel. If you are performing this install on the ground, please use jack stands as a precautionary measure.
2. Thoroughly clean the underside of the bumper with a lint-free microfiber and paint safe solution in preparation for the lip install.
3. Remove the two 8mm bolts that sit at the center of the bumper cover. Secure the RKP mounting bracket to the OUTSIDE of bumper cover as a template for the drill holes.
4. With the bracket secured, use a marker or pencil to accurately mark the three holes in the bracket. Once clearly marked, remove the RKP bracket.
5. With a 7mm bit, drill out the three marked holes. Be sure to drill through the bumper cover and the support plastic behind the cover, but not all the way through the top edge of the cover.
6. Hold the RKP lip up against the bumper to identify which bolts and pins need to be removed and all areas to which the pre-applied tape will adhere. Apply adhesion promoter to these areas.
7. With the required mounting holes noted in the previous step, remove the four 8mm bolts on the outside edges of the bumper cover and the two push pins / 8mm bolts aft of where the underpanel sections meet.
8. Insert the included speed nuts in the two push pin locations. You will replace the two push pins with 8mm bolts for a faster, more uniform installation process.
9. Slide the RKP mounting bracket inside the bottom of the bumper cover until it lines up with the three drilled holes. Be sure the nutserts on the bracket face up while the smooth side faces downward.
10. Secure the RKP mounting bracket in place by re-installing the four 8mm bolts you removed in Step 3 and Step 7 respectively.
11. With the bumper cover fully prepared, pre-expose portions of the 3M tape on the RKP lip. Loosely secure the RKP carbon lip to the bumper at both ends to check for adequate alignment.
12. Fully expose the 3M tape and affix the lip to the bumper with the remaining 8mm hardware. Use a 4mm Allen for the three longest bolts which conjoin the lip and bumper panel to the RKP mounting bracket.
