Constant sugar and carb cravings
This might be a good indicator that you aren’t getting enough protein and healthy fat and fiber in your diet. Maybe you eat enough carbs but are lacking in the other nutrients.
Feeling hungry all throughout the day (like an hour after eating)
This could indicate that you didn’t get enough at your last meal, over overall calories, or protein/fat to hold you over for three hours.
Persistent low energy day in and day out
this is a good indicator that you haven’t been eating enough for the past few days/a prolonged period of time and it’s really starting to catch up with you. Some pregnancy exhaustion is of course normal, but when it is persistent all day long with no reprieve that could be an indicator you’re not getting enough to eat overall.
If your appetite is low, and you have a hard time eating, adding some higher fat and higher calorie foods can be helpful. Full fat dairy and cottage cheese, nuts, seeds, nut butters, olive oil, protein powder in smoothies/oatmeal/juice are a few things that can add major nutrition.
