Today I want to talk about DCF assessments. They occur after the department has supported the decision of child abuse and neglect or they have found a substantiated concern against you. The importance of the assessment is that DCF is going to come out to your home over a three-month period of time three times and interview you and your children. They will speak to collaterals such as doctors, schools, as well as after school programs. You want to make sure that you protect your legal rights because if you don't know what your legal rights are, you have no legal rights.
