As summer comes to a close, the leaves begin to change colors fairly early in central Pennsylvania. Nestled in the heart of Pennsylvania's bituminous coal region is the East Broad Top railroad, colloquially known as the "Old-Eastie". The EBT is headquartered in Rockhill Furnace, Pennsylvania, which is home to the railroad's large yard and shop complex, all of which is original to the 19th century. We hope you enjoy this film of the East Broad Top's steam locomotive #16, as it travels through the beautiful scenery of historic coal country!

Background on Engine #16:
East Broad Top 16 is a 2-8-2 "Mikado" steam locomotive built in 1916 by the Baldwin Locomotive Works. Throughout its working life, 16 could be found pulling long strings of ore-hoppers and other various freight trains on the line. Following the railroad's reopening in 2020, 16 was chosen to be brought back into service, as it never ran on the EBT's other attempts at tourist railroading.
