How does a robot know where it is? That's the power of localization, and with the HuskyLens camera, it's easier than you might think. In this video, I walk you through how to recognize AprilTags using CircuitPython and the HuskyLens Camera. I cover everything from setting up the HuskyLens to see multiple tags at once, to extracting data like a tag's ID, position, and size on the screen.
I also show you how to assign custom names to your tags for easier tracking. I'll also show you a function that helps you calculate an accurate distance from the camera to the tag, turning raw data into something your robot can actually use. This project is a perfect building block for creating a full-blown robot navigation or localization system.
