Leaving Windermere, we travel north on the A591. We drive alongside the shore of the lake (but as locals will tell you, it is a mere, not a lake). Through Ambleside, we pass Rydal Water and Grasmere, before climbing Dunmail Raise. Over the top, we drop down towards Thirlmere. Storm Desmond badly damaged this part of the road in 2015, and the road was closed for a long time to repair. After Thirlmere, the road descends into St John's in the Vale. Into the outskirts of Keswick, we leave the A591 to join the A66, which takes us round the town to Portinscale. We travel along the narrow lanes to the north of Derwentwater to reach our destination.
Did you spot the two parking tickets on the cars at 45:27? I think the chap in the Council van (43:44) did them. To be fair, there was a Cumbria County Council sign by the silver car that instructed drivers not to park on the verge.
A great day for recording, The leaves on the trees were great, and unlike my other videos, no colour correction or rebalance was required.
