Guðrún was born on JUL 29, 1995. She has moved around on the beautiful island of Iceland quite a bit before she started playing for the well renowned team of Breiðablik Kópavogur where she won a bunch of national titles.
From 2016-2018, she studied economics at Santa Clara University in Santa Clara (California), about an hour southeast of San Francisco. In 2019, she moved to Sweden where she played for the Stockholm side of Djurgården before she moved midseason 2021 to Sweden's most successful team FC Rosengård with which she has won three championships. In 2025, she was chosen to be the team captain.
