Sometimes all it takes is 2 hours with an International Master to see the difference in your chess approach vs theirs! I'll summarise the key take-aways from this video down below:
1. Consider practical (inaccurate) moves within your variations that deviate from your prep (if you can work them out now, this will help you to avoid playing them in your games)
2. Always finish a variation in your opening prep with ideas for the resulting middlegame
3. When lacking experience in a new opening, try to scan through 100 games of GMs in the opening (BONUS: look at GM's playing against 2000 ELO players, since those games will illustrate the GM's ideas best!)
