News Track: BJP Counters INDIA Bloc's SIR 'Vote Chori' Charge With Hyderabad Padayatra | India Today

Описание: On News Track with Maria Shakil, the escalating political clash between the INDIA bloc and the BJP over the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) and voter list row took centre stage. Following the opposition's mock impeachment of Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar and a mass rally at Delhi's Ramlila Maidan alleging 'vote chori', Home Minister Amit Shah led a counter-offensive with a padayatra in Hyderabad, accusing the Congress and opposition of protecting infiltrators. Debating the issue, senior BJP leader and MP Ravi Shankar Prasad defended the nationwide SIR exercise as a statutory necessity to clean electoral rolls, accusing Rahul Gandhi of demeaning constitutional bodies after successive electoral defeats. In contrast, Congress MP Manickam Tagore accused the ruling party and the Election Commission of systematic voter manipulation and communal polarization. The special report highlights how the battle over voter rolls and electoral transparency has shifted from institutional corridors directly to mass street politics across India.
