Professional fighter Ariane Carnelossi knows what it takes to fight through pain. Persistent injuries are part of the job. Her April 24, 2021 preliminary bout, however, was made even more challenging as the pain from a previously corrected herniated disc resurfaced just days before fight night. Carnelossi pushed through the agony and defeated her seasoned opponent by stoppage in the second round. Once backstage, she soon realized the pain from her injury was more than she could endure, and she was taken to UF Health North hospital in Jacksonville, Florida.
