Attackers don’t need to crack encryption algorithms. Instead, they can steal keys or sensitive data by analyzing the physical characteristics of quantum devices—such as QKD terminals or quantum computer chip s—during operation. These characteristics include fluctuations in photon emission intensity, changes in energy consumption, and even differences in device heat dissipation.
