This is a live recording from my concert in Moscow, where I opened the evening with Scriabin’s Second Sonata—also known as the Sonata-Fantasy.
It was the beginning of my program “Scriabin: Between Dreams and Fire”, and this piece felt like the perfect doorway into the magical, shifting world of Scriabin’s imagination.
Composed between 1892 and 1897, this sonata could have been inspired by the image of the sea at night—its mystery, its calm, and then, its storm.
To me, it’s one of his most dreamlike works.
It was such a joy to share this music live, and I truly hope you’ll feel the same connection watching it here.
