The COVID-19 pandemic brought about sweeping changes to building operations and specifically to HVAC, fresh air intake, and flushing. These pandemic guidelines set forth from ASHRAE and backed by the CDC literally saw many years of energy efficiency "go out the window".
Three primary questions are posed and answered in this presentation:
1. Given the existing HVAC conditions, what additional performance and contaminant burden might have been placed on the systems with the new guidance?
2. How can we assess these conditions to determine corrective actions?
3. What can be done to restore operational conditions to the HVAC system to restore efficiency.
