The Ben-Kedem – The Children of the East

The majority of the Bible is centred on the people of Israel and their land. Through Abraham they have been chosen to be the central nation in God’s purpose, to be God’s national witness and finally to become the centre of the coming Kingdom.

God was always clear that Jesus would be born in the lineage of Abraham and David. But God promised Abraham that he would become the father of many nations. This would include many descendant nations and later “children of Abraham by faith”.

As result most Arab nations are related to Abraham , and some 5 billion people today claim a natural connection or a spiritual connection to Abraham.

These two studies explore the biblical history of the non-Israelite descendants and relatives of Abraham and their relationship with the promises. We will also see their impact that their culture and learning have had on the scriptures of truth.

Talk one explores the Sons of God after the Flood, Melchisedec and then Abrahams family right down to the time of King David.

Talk two looks at the interactions with Solomon, looks at the Kenites and then looks at the New Testament visitors to the baby Jesus.

This study of the Ben-kedem is very useful way to widen our appreciation of many scriptures.
