Iran has released footage it says shows army drones launched against U.S. bases in the United Arab Emirates and Bahrain.

The footage was released by Iranian state broadcaster IRIB on September 2, following fresh U.S. strikes on Iranian military targets. Reuters reports that the American strikes targeted Iranian military infrastructure near the Strait of Hormuz, including air-defence and communications systems.

Iran subsequently launched missile and drone attacks against U.S.-linked targets across the Middle East, including Bahrain, Jordan, Kuwait and Iraq.

The latest exchange marks a major escalation in the U.S.-Iran conflict and raises concerns about a wider regional confrontation.
