Morgan Park Track Day 7 August 2024 Session 4. Again! @#%&

Описание: Second day coming back after the last crash. I had just done a 1:20.46 in the previous session close to my PB but there were a lot of inconsistencies particularly exiting turn 7 through to 9. I had a suspension change thanks to Paul Free #Motologic which was a major overall improvement but increased the wheelie on corner exit. I was experimenting with my new Hel Performance thumb brake to control it.

The speed in the video overlay is from the rear wheel, not GPS. In turn 6 where apex wheel speed usually is ~75 - 78kmh, GPS speed is 60-65. I had a really good drive through turn 5 before the crash and arrived faster but didn't brake more, so apex speed was almost 10kmh more than normal. If I'd stayed on the brake longer past the Apex I would be okay (not as fast) but instead I got back on the throttle, unloading the front tyre. I didn't have any extra lean angle so it was all about tyre load.

On the previous session I had an almost 2 day old #Dunlop KR108 which was spinning on first throttle opening every corner. I'd just put a new one on for this session which stopped that spin, but I noticed it was pushing the front. I missed the step of changing my focus to corner exit on the good rear tyre rather than corner entry on the 'okay' front.
