According to our Kulgam Reporter from DH Pora, Noorabad, and other elevated belts indicate intermittent snowfall since the early hours, while plains are witnessing cloudy skies and a noticeable dip in temperature. The fresh spell has added to the chill, with cold winds sweeping across several villages.
Local residents say the snowfall, though light so far, has revived concerns about road connectivity in far-flung areas, where link roads often become slippery and difficult to navigate even with minor accumulation. Authorities are keeping men and machinery on alert to ensure that major roads remain open for vehicular movement if the intensity increases.
Meanwhile, the snowfall has also brought a scenic charm to the mountainous landscape, with rooftops, trees, and fields slowly turning white. Weather observers expect the conditions to remain overcast, with chances of continued light snowfall in higher reaches through the day.
