Makani’s history traces back to an 8,000-mile journey through the Panama Canal, up the coast of Central America, past Mexico, and finally to the Hawaiian Islands. The Makani began as a vision, transitioned into a conceptual plan, and emerged as a sophisticated sea vessel. Construction began in September 2004 in St. Croix, U.S. Virgin Islands, and was completed in August 2005. After the lengthy journey, Makani arrived at her new home in Honolulu on October 20, 2005, where luxury catamaran cruising became her main vocation.
