Stephan Bormann is one of Germany's most versatile guitarists. With his projects SONGLAND TRIO, HANDS ON STRINGS, 10STRING ORCHESTRA and as a soloist, he performs approximately 80 concerts a year. As guitarist of the Cristin Claas Trio, he was a Sony Recording Artist and toured in various European countries. And he is not only a successful musician but also a composer with publications by AMA Verlag and SCHOTT MUSIC. His SOLO GUITAR BOOK, which presents various approaches: arranging for solo guitar, was published in 2013. With the duet collection SOUNDS OF THE WORLD, published in 2021, he embarks on a compositional journey around the world. As a sideman, he has worked with various artists and has performed in concerts with Nils Landgren, Till Brönner, the Klazz Brothers, the Leipzig Big Band, Günther Fischer, and many others.

From 1989 to 2006, he worked as a guitar instructor at the University of Magdeburg, and from 1998 to 1999 at the Leipzig University of Music. He has taught at the Dresden University of Music since 1995, where he is a professor for guitar of Jazz/Rock/Pop. Workshops have taken him to numerous cities in Germany, as well as to Italy, the Netherlands, Denmark, the Czech Republic, Poland, Sweden, Austria, Switzerland, Turkey, Belgium, Hungary, Bulgaria, France, and the USA.

Another focus is to work closely with established and young, largely unknown luthiers. Together we want to develop new ideas and share experiences with our customers. We also recorded pieces for many great composers such as Johann Sebastian Bach, Astor Piazzolla and Isaac Albeniz (Asturias).
