Fried Soft-Shell Crab
Cajun-Inspired & Budget-Friendly
Ingredients:
1 soft-shell crab, cleaned
½ cup all-purpose flour
¼ tsp cayenne pepper, divided
1 tsp Cajun seasoning, divided
1 egg, beaten
Oil for frying
Instructions:
Heat oil in a deep pot over medium heat.
In a shallow bowl beat 1 egg.
In a shallow bowl add flour and half the cayenne and Cajun seasoning.
Season crab with the rest of the seasoning. Pour in egg and coat well.
Dredge in flour then egg then flour again for a thick double battered soft
shell crab.
Fry crab 2–3 minutes per side, until golden brown and crispy. Internal temp of at least 145°.
Drain and serve hot. Goes well with white beans and rice.
