This is a recording of the Village Voices event that took place on January, 13th, 2026. This month's Village Voices featured Michael Hash.
In 2009, he was deputy director of the White House Office for Health Reform and one of the architects of the ACA, and served as director of the Office of Health Reform at the Department of Health and Human Services from 2011 to 2014, where he played a key role in implementation of the ACA.
After the drama of recent debates over the extension of ACA premium subsidies, Michael joined Village Voices to talk about the status of the ACA and whether we can still call it either affordable or viable.
