Introducing one of the most iconic Korean barbecue recipes: Bulgogi Beef. Chef Judy Joo has created a saucier version that you can whip up at home with ingredients from the Korean aisle at Ocado. It’s sweet, salty, smoky - pretty much everything you want in a barbecue. Check out Ocado’s Korean aisle for these and other delicious ingredients.
Serves 2-4
Ingredients:
450g ribeye or sirloin steak (or other prime cut of beef), trimmed
60ml soy sauce
1 small Conference pear, peeled and cored
2 tsp grated garlic
2.5cm piece of ginger, roughly chopped
1 tbsp roasted sesame oil
1 tbsp light brown sugar
1 tbsp sake or pure soju
1 tbsp fish sauce or anchovy sauce
1½ tbsp mirim
1 brown onion, thinly sliced
freshly ground black pepper
To Serve
5 chives, thinly sliced
1 tsp roasted sesame seeds
