The Irish World was at Regent Street Cinema for the London premiere of A Girl From Mogadishu, presented by Irish Film London and part of the Saint Brigid's Festival of the Irish Embassy of London.
A Girl From Mogadishu tells the story of Ifrah Ahmed who escaped war-torn Somalia for Ireland where she became an advocate for the eradication of female genital mutilation.
We chatted to Irish Ambassador Adrian O'Neill, the film's director Mary McGuckian, panel members Leyla Hussein, Bonnie Greer and Comfort Momoh, Leonie Kerrins from The Ifrah Foundation and Maggie O'Kane of The Global Media Campaign to End FGM.
