In the Avatar short story Zuko is stretching, preparing to teach Aang firebending when sokka runs up asking if he wants to do a little swordbending
Sokka says they are the only two in the group that can swordbend but Zuko brushes him off, saying Sokka isn’t even close to his level
This leaves Sokka no choice and he brings out his sword, challenging Zuko to a SWORDBENDING KAI
Sokka tries to explain the similarity to an agni kai and Zuko rolls his eyes and says there’s no such thing but Sokka puts on his puppy eyes, convincing Zuko to accept his challenge to defend his honor
Moments later we see Aang serving as the referee and both Zuko and Sokka prepare themselves for a spar
Aang blows the whistle which begins the match as Zuko charges at Sokka with his dual blades
On the sidelines Katara and Toph both hold up signs supporting their contestant, and Toph’s drawing of Zuko is upside down
The two continue to battle it out with no clear victor and Sokka is ready to teach Zuko a lesson, claiming he will show him how they do things down south
But this is when Sokka gets overconfident and Zuko shows his true skill as a swordsman

The world is divided into four nations -- the Water Tribe, the Earth Kingdom, the Fire Nation and the Air Nomads -- each represented by a natural element for which the nation is named. Benders have the ability to control and manipulate the element from their nation. Only the Avatar is the master of all four elements. The ruthless Fire Nation wants to conquer the world but the only bender who has enough power, the Avatar, has disappeared ... until now. His tribe soon discovers that Aang is the long-lost Avatar. Now Katara and Sokka must safeguard Aang on his journey to master all four elements and save the world from the Fire Nation.
