The idea for this album came after beating the game FlyKnight by Wabbaboy a few years back. I’ve enjoyed old school dungeon crawlers before, but it wasn’t until that game where I truly fell in love with the genre’s gameplay and the music that set the tone for the game.
I first composed “Uneasy Peace” as a test track in 2023 to see if I could make something out of the Old School Runescape soundfont. I eventually settled on Windows GM to get the extra scuff I was looking for. The title for this project was originally “Oldscape” and is still labeled that in my files.
I composed my second song, “Deserted Chapel”, after playing a demo for another first-person King’s Field-esque game that boasted a ruined church aesthetic. From there, I decided on putting together a full album. Please enjoy this concept OST comprised of songs inspired by King’s Field IV, Runescape, Castlevania 64 and Daggerfall.
