The Gibson ES-333 is a lower-priced version of the ES-335 with no decorastion and a panel on the back. It was made for a very short time in the early 2000s. Also known as "Poorman's Gibson". But when I found this ES-333 in the shop, it had already been converted to ES-335. The pickups were changed to 57 Classic from the originals and the satin matte paint had been polished to a gloss finish.

After I got it, I replaced the bridge to my favorite GOTOH parts, the GE104B. The lacquer paint on the neck was sticky, so It was removed and repainted. The wiring had been modified by the previous owner and was unstable. So It was replaced with an Emerson Custom wiring kit. All work was done by my favorite repair shop. Still It was much cheaper than the real ES-335. As you all know, the yen is currently weaker than ever, and foreign-made instruments are damn expensive. I always have to use it for a while to know if these modifications were right or not. Anyway I was happy to play this guitar, but one day I realized that the size of this guitar seems big for my body.
