Trauma bonding is a strong emotional attachment to an abuser, often formed through cycles of good and bad days. The abusers will at first appear nice and gentle in the good days, to abusing you on the bad days. They proceed to "make up" to this bad days by excusing themselves, love bombing you and being gentle and thus the cycle repeat. The victims will find themselves rationalizing and justifying their abusers harmful behavior, mostly by creating a romanticize version of the abuser during good times, ignoring or downplaying the abuse. They internalize the responsibility for the abuse and often feels ashamed for staying in the relationship.
