This oil filter relocation system is designed specifically for integrating an oil filter into an LS swap project that uses an aftermarket steel, or fabricated aluminum engine oil pan.
If you choose to run an aftermarket oil pan, instead of a factory GM LS oil pan with a stock oil filter mounting boss built into the casting, or if you have a complex build that dictates a new location for the filter, you will need to relocate the engine oil filter. The sole purpose of these special filter relocation kits is to integrate an oil filter into your LS engine's lubrication system.
This video takes a few minutes to explain what these kits are, what they come with, and how they get installed on an LS engine. The engine in this video is destined for a 65 Chevy truck. The kit installing in this video is cast aluminum, but premium billet aluminum and braided line kits are also available.
