So we’re told—again—that the UK has “met the ZEV mandate”… and not just once… but two years running.

But here’s the problem:

✅ If the mandate was genuinely met… why won’t anyone publish the full flexibility breakdown?

Because under the ZEV rules, it’s not as simple as “EV sales hit the target = job done.”

There are flexibilities.
There are credits.
There are workarounds.
And there are non-ZEV registrations that can still be counted in ways most people don’t understand.

And that’s exactly what I’m calling out today.

🚨 The simple question nobody will answer:

👉 How many “low-emission” ICE cars (and hybrids) were registered to make up the shortfall?

Because if we’re being told the target was met thanks to flexibilities… then the public deserves to see:

✅ The actual EV registration shortfall (if any)
✅ What flexibilities were used
✅ How many credits were generated
✅ How many were traded
✅ How many “low-emission” non-EVs were counted to balance the maths

And most importantly…

❓What are they hiding?

If the numbers are solid, transparent, and legitimate — why not publish them?

Instead, what we’re getting is:

confident claims

big headlines

vague “trust us” explanations

and no hard breakdown anyone can check

Meanwhile, in the real world:
People are being pushed into EVs…
dealers are being blamed…
manufacturers are threatening price rises…
and the used EV market is taking the hit.

But nobody wants to show the full workings.

So let’s put it out there:

📢 If the ZEV mandate was met fairly and honestly — publish the full breakdown.

Because until they do…
it’s hard not to ask what the “success story” is actually built on.
