Well I walked a road through dust and sin
With a restless heart and a bottle of gin
Tried to deny every wrong I'd done
But you can't hide from the risen Son
The miles ate me up and the nights grew long
I began to count my regrets, things done wrong
Then a church bell rang through the midnight air
And I felt the Lord was waiting there
