This video also demonstrates how fast thermoelectric cooling gets cold and how long it takes for thermoelectric heating to get hot.

A thermoelectric cooling module is attached to a water block heat sink with thermal paste in between the two. Water with blue coloring is placed onto the surface of a thermoelectric cooling module. Cooling mode is activated to cool the water and to determine if the water can be frozen. Then the polarity of the thermoelectric cooling module is reversed. This activates heating mode. In heating mode we demonstrate whether or not a thermoelectric cooling module can boil water. A thermocouple and temperature readout demonstrates the temperature of the water throughout the experiment. A timer shows the relative time required to heat or cool the water.

Thermoelectric cooling and heating is also known as Peltier cooling and heating, solid-state cooling, TEC cooling, and thermoelectric modules.
