The legacy and importance of Stephane Diagana’s contribution to athletics cannot be understated.
The French hurdler wrote his name in the history books when he set a new European 400m hurdles outdoor record in 1995 - the record time of 47.37 stood until June 2019.
During his time as a record holder, he won European Championship gold at Munich 2002 in incredible fashion. He added this European gold to his World gold won in 1997.
