Описание: In the context of Kathmandu, the capital city of Nepal, it appears that an atmosphere of unusual calm and tranquility emerges only under exceptional circumstances such as the conduct of national elections, the outbreak of a public health pandemic, the occurrence of a major earthquake, or the observance of grand national festivals like Dashain and Tihar. In the absence of such extraordinary events, Kathmandu, in my considered view, resembles an overwhelming expanse dominated by dense human congestion and aging, poorly maintained vehicles, evoking the impression of an urban desert rather than a harmoniously regulated metropolitan environment.
