You have friends and family over and your children could be put in the wrong situation where abusers could take advantage of. In fact, rates of child abuse often increase around the holidays. As we approach the holidays remember that your child needs you to help protect their boundaries. Talk to your child let them know it's okay to say "no" to unwanted hugs, kisses or other affection even to adults and family members. Communicate regularly about abuse and safety and be vigilant with who your child interacts with.
