Oct. 16, 2017 – EDINBURG, Texas – The UTRGV volleyball team is made up of 16 student-athletes from six different countries, including the United States, Brazil, the Czech Republic, Mexico, Norway and Serbia.
This international flavor allows for cultural exchanges on a daily basis, including language.
UTRGV’s three student-athletes from Serbia, seniors Bojana Mitrovic and Tina Sekulic and junior Dubravka Vukoja, set out to teach some of their teammates a few words in Serbian by saying a word and then seeing if their teammates could identify the word before learning the translation.
