But every time I sang it in church, something felt missing. I longed to hear the heartbeat of the gospel in it more clearly—Jesus, the cross, the sacrifice, the price paid for our sin. This rework is my attempt to bring those pieces together, pointing clearly to where God’s love was most fully revealed: in Jesus Christ His Son and His finished work on the cross.
