An Indianapolis man will spend more than seven decades in prison for causing a crash while fleeing police in February 2025. The crash in Hendricks County killed two children.
For the first time since sentencing in the case, we're hearing from the children's mother.
The past year has been an uphill battle for Jack Vawter and her family. The mother of two and her fiancé have spent months in and out of a courtroom as they followed the trial of the man who crashed into the family’s vehicle, killing 2-month-old Iris and 3-year-old Ares. S'Doni Pettis was driving a stolen car, leading police on a pursuit.
Vawter said the emotional toll has been overwhelming.
