Welcome to the Oldest continuously occupied City in the United States. Founded in 1565

The Old Jail Is One of the Most popular sites to visit during your time In our Ancient City.

Henry Flagler built the Old Jail to to have an Exterior appearance of a Victorian House, making the jail camoflaged to the naked eyeof his guest and those who lived in the town of St. Augustine.

Today I’m taking you all to The Old Jail in Downtown St. Augustine. It’s Haunted and I’m taking you on a “Live Tour” 😳😱😬

The Old Jail was built in 1891 and served the City of St. Augustine until 1953. The Jail held some of the Most Violent Criminals and Carried out Capital punishment on a set of gallows on the Property.

A Total of 8 men were hanged and executed from these gallows at The Old Jail.

Gallows ~ a structure, typically of two uprights and a crosspiece, for the Hanging of Criminals

Fun Fact: Did you know that Alcatraz In San Francisco was built by the same company that built The St Augustine Jail.
P. J. Pauley Jail Company, the same people responsible for building Alcatraz In San Francisco.
