Boneless Chicken Karahi is a popular Pakistani and North Indian dish known for its rich, spicy, and tangy flavors. It's made using boneless chicken cooked in a wok (karahi) with a blend of aromatic spices, tomatoes, and green chilies, making it a flavorful and comforting dish.
Key Ingredients:
Boneless chicken (500g)
Oil or ghee (1/2 cup)
Tomatoes (3-4, chopped or pureed)
Green chilies (4-5, sliced)
Ginger garlic paste (1 tbsp)
Yogurt (2-3 tbsp, optional)
Red chili powder (1 tsp)
Turmeric powder (1/2 tsp)
Cumin powder (1 tsp)
Coriander powder (1 tsp)
Salt (to taste)
Fresh cilantro (for garnish)
Ginger slices (for garnish)
Instructions:
Heat Oil: Heat oil in a wok (karahi). Add ginger garlic paste and sauté until fragrant.
Cook Chicken: Add boneless chicken pieces and cook until they turn white.
Spices: Add salt, red chili powder, turmeric, cumin, and coriander powder. Mix well and cook for a few minutes.
Tomatoes: Add chopped or pureed tomatoes. Cook until the oil separates from the masala, and the tomatoes break down completely.
Green Chilies: Add sliced green chilies and mix.
Yogurt (Optional): If using yogurt, add it now for extra richness.
Simmer: Cook on medium heat until the chicken is fully cooked and the oil separates.
Garnish: Finish with ginger slices and chopped cilantro.
