The successful handover of this all-through school was completed on time in early spring 2022. The two-storey building consists of a primary and secondary school, with a separate nursery, comprehensive sports facilities, specialist teaching rooms and special educational needs areas, with use of offsite fabrication by Wates’ PRISM facility.
Despite challenging ground conditions, the external landscaping was completed to an extremely high standard with woodland walk, outdoor classroom provision and 400 new trees planted onsite.
Exemplary collaboration, reprogramming of works, and innovative mitigation strategies were required to overcome extensive delays with the infrastructure and connecting utilities to serve the school, with an excellent relationship with the client maintained throughout.
