Backpacking Clouds Rest and the Merced River in Yosemite

Описание: We set out for a two-night, three-day backpacking loop from the Sunrise trailhead with an inkling of a scheme to turn the trip into a one-night, two-day loop. After a 22+ mile first day we managed to pull off a marathon second day. The trip was pretty epic with scenery as we first summited Clouds Rest and then followed the Merced River through Little Yosemite Valley, Lost Valley, and Echo Valley before turning to follow the Lewis Creek and Fletcher Creek Trails. After we crossed over Tuolumne Pass, we headed down to Tioga road and rounded the trip out on the Tenaya Lake Trail. The one downside of the scheme was that finding a last-minute campsite in Yosemite would be near impossible. A miracle happened when our friends Jenney & Janet texted us that they had booked themselves a site in the valley and had room for us if we needed it. What a treat!
