Electrostatic discharge is the sudden transfer (discharge) of static charge from one object to another.
If you have made basic ESD precautions at SMT workplace as shown in the video then Component failure due to ESD is rare.
Why Higher voltage does not make any damage to humans but a very small voltage damage the components.
Why do we get a minor shock after touching the doorknob?
Why mosquitoes die with higher voltage by Mosquito Bat but Human not get any damage.
